Juliet was 14

Nu bezien was Juliet met 14
wellicht al wel voor de vrijheid geboren,
edoch haar gaandeweg weer verloren.

Haar vrijheid weer beteugeld,
gelijkheid niet langer bevleugeld,
in gedachten gehouden misschien.

Juliet met 14,
een kind nog zo te zien.

Juliet met 14 vol verlangen,
de vrijheid omarmend een ieder verwarmend.

Ach Juliet, ga ik u net als met 14
nog eenmaal zo vurig zien misschien?
